ShortCode question.

I have a customer whose configuration now has a new shortcode in the for their users in the shortcode tab. I was onsite to fix a VMpro issue and found this shortcode.

Shortcode *DCP
Telephone Number 0,0,2,1
Line Group 0
Feature CW

They are using IP406 2.0.18. I have talked with their manager and they have no idea of making changes.

Any ideas on the possable purpose of this shortcode? I want to clear it from all the users if it is not needed.

Hi rave100,

This shortcode is put there automatically by IP (46xx series) or 24xx series DS phones when call waiting has been activated on that extension.

That sort of short code appears when the user sets some feature thrugh their phone such as changing the ringer. Its the IP Office's way of emulating some features found on the phone systems for which some of the phones were originally designed.

The 20 Series phones does this a lot, storing user settings as *RINGER, *SD and *SSD. I suspect that *DCP is much the same.

Removing it won't be fatal but may reappear again.

Has anyone reveres engineered what the diferent values control?

I have a full breakdown of the *Rinnger parameter for 20XX phones if anyone is interested
