Firmware upgrade - H.323 to SIP

Hi there,

If an IP phone is upgraded from H.323 to SIP phone then what happens? Is it possible to be downgraded back to H.323? Does it still work with an IP Office?

Thanks

I am not sure how you would upgrade the set to SIP from h.323 but at this point IP Office does not support SIP

Re: Firmware upgrade - H.323 to SIP

The Avaya site says the following :

"When choosing the "46xxSIP_111004...", all 4602 and 4602SW phones will be converted to SIP unless, before applying this release, you manually modify the SIG value to H323 for phones that shall retain H323 software. Otherwise, if you have no SIP telephones, you want to select one of the three bundles labeled "46xx_111004..." The only difference between the "SIP" and the "H323" software bundles in a small change in the 46xxupgrade.txt file. The SIP-named bundle has an upgrade file that helps expedite the upgrade of the H.323 telephones to SIP."

So is it possible to return back to h.323 after the conversion to SIP?
