Alternate Route

Hi all,
I'm using as a main route the VoIP link to a frame relay network. I'd like to have an alternate route a dial-up connection. The problem is that the IPO 406 does not detect the VoIP link failure which is beyond the Cisco 2600 series router. Is there another method to have alternate route? Maybe using a time profile to switch to ISDN dialup after office hours in case the VoIP link is down?

Any ideas?

Cheers!

Re: Alternate Route

Yes, create 2 LCR's & associate them with a time profile

Re: Alternate Route

I think you mean can you set up a altenate toute if the voip trunk is down.
You can program the LCR but it will not work, he wil not see the failure of the IP-Trunk.

I always program a escape code like 8 instead of 0. And 8 Internr shortcode.

So if ip-trunk is down use the 8 to do the calls.

Re: Alternate Route

The time profile works or even manually using a night service shortcode to route calls to an alternate route. The big problem is that incoming calls that are routed to VoIP link are lost in case the VoIP link is down, since the IPO cannot detect the link failure, causing poor utilization of the VoIP link.
