Intermittant Message Waiting Light on IPO SME Embedded VM

Has anyone else encountered message waiting lights that come on by themselves?

They will dissappear when you go into your VM box and then thewaiting light mysteriously returns.

I have seen this happen on 2 different IP Offices SME running embedded VM. This has occurred while running 2.0 and 2.1 code.

I have searched the net and Avaya's support site with no results..........

With a little presisitance I found a workaround..

In order to clear the this problem you need to change the users name slightly and also change the ext no. and the imtermittant lighting of the mwl will go away. This is usually not a problem on new installations but can be on existing systems.

The problem is triggered by attempting to transfer a call directly into someones VM box.

i.e <Transfer> 7xxx <Transfer>.
