Re: analoge trunk to tunk transfer

Not sure what country you are in, but see if the CO can provide you with a feature called "reliable disconnect" or "disconnect clear" or similiar. Basically they send a special signal down the line when a caller hangs up, signalling the PBX that it can drop the trunk.

Also make sure the "disconnect clear" and "allow forwarding" options are ticked in the line form under the analog tab.

If this fails, you will need to switch to ground start lines, which means no caller ID. Also you will need an ATM16 as the 4LS cards only support loop start lines.

Re: analoge trunk to tunk transfer

I am in Canada, but this advice should still be relevant:

There are two kinds of analog trunks (lines) - loop start and ground start. Loop start is the most common, and give dialtone when you go offhook (completing the loop). Ground start trunks give dialtone when you briefly touch one wire of your tip/ring pair to earth ground. You typically cannot get caller ID over them, but they provide unbeatably reliable disconnect supervision.

Again, the 4 port LS cards that are installed in the B and/or A slots in the back of a 403/406/412 do NOT support groundstart, only the external ATM16 module will take these trunks.
