This site will not allow wave files to be posted. Is there any way you could allow them?

Exclamation IP Music on Hold

Here is the file I use (zipped). It's a 30 second loop that I downloaded from a "royalty-free" site. My customers seem to like it.

The only mention of any size restriction in the IO Office documentation is this:

"To use internal Music On Hold a file called "holdmusic.wav" must be placed in the Manager's Working Directory. This should be a 16 bit mono .wav file of up to 30 seconds in length."

Re: IP Music on Hold

the 2.1 Documentation says that the file limit is 500KB

has anyone had any problems with music on hold ceasing to work for no apparent reason? It has happened to me multiple times. I am placing the holdmusic.wav file in the appropriate folder (C:\Program Files\Avaya\IP Office\Manager) and my format is correct, but it seems to keep going away. It always works for a while and the TFTP log shows that the hold music files were properly transfered, but then it goes away. Any ideas?

Re: IP Music on Hold

I seem to be having trouble with a custom file for holdmusic.wav. Can someone try this file and see if it works on their system? I have created a file the is 29 seconds and is 16 bit mono 8Khz wav file. The properties look Identical to a file that does work on my system.

Thanks for any help.

Rich

Talking Re: IP Music on Hold

I figured it out. For some reason the program I was using to do the coversion to the right sample rate (Wav Lab) was messing with my file. Cool Edit works much better.

Actually, for simple conversions the MickeySoft Sound Recorder (sndrec32.exe) that comes with Windoze will do the trick quite well.
