HELP: One-Way Talk Path

Ok. This is the second IPOffice 403 that I've installed for this customer that will be tied back to their S8700 via H.323 trunks and utilizing their Intuity Audix as centralized voicemail. The first one is functioning perfectly and has been for many months but I'm having a horrible time with a one-way talk path on the second one. Everything seems to be working, signalling group is up, trunks are up, calls from either end connect, voicemail lights light and turn off, but from the IPOffice side I cannot hear Audio from the S8700 side. makes no difference where the call is initiated, the IPOffice has no voice audio. Now, if I press buttons on the S8700 side I get DTMF audio on the IP Office side, but no voice audio. On the S8700 side I get full duplex audio, no problem.

Both IP Offices are at 2.0.18 (I specifically have not gone to 2.1 because of the existing configuration which works great). I've done the "stare and compare" thing for all trunk, signalling, etc and everything seems to be identical.

Avaya refuses to talk to me since the customer opted not to purchase the $10,000.00 network assessment. So, I come here with my hat in my hand to see if my fellow brethern can assist.

Help!

Re: HELP: One-Way Talk Path

if both sites are 2.0.18 403's, and the voip line programming is identical, and I'm sure the 8700 is in good hands... I would suspect the network. Specifically, some silly firewall or other self-righteous network appliance blocking ports.

Look for a device at the new 403 site that is set to allow voip packets out where is should be set for in/out.

Correctomundo! I removed the 403 from my test lab in the S8700 phone room and into the production environment and bingo, instant VOIP! On the hour+ drive home I beat myself up quite severely and finally realized what I had done wrong. I had created a static route for the CLAN but not for the MedPro so that the VOIP packets had no route back to the 403. Everything was working fine on the S8700 side because both the cards were on the same backplane and no routing was necessary.

Duoh!
