Anyone Used 4610 sets?

According to Avaya the 4610 IP phones are not supported until the 3.0 release this fall. Has anyone tried hooking up a 4610 set to see if it will work prior to 3.0 release? (I know that the 4620's worked prior to the release of 2.0, when they were actually supported). Please let me know if you have any experience working with 4610's on IP Office.

You will probably find that they "work" but not fully.

we have installed 2402 units on a site pending 3.0 & they can be used as basic phones but non of the display features will work.

I haven't tried them, but I believe I heard someone comment that the displays on 4610's currently do not work at all.

Re: Anyone Used 4610 sets?

I tested the 4610 on the IPO a couple of months ago. Out of the box (with v1.99 firmware), all of the functions, including the display, worked as expected. The only problem I noticed was an occasional studder dialtone when using the speakerphone. Thinking that the more recent firmware may resolve this problem, I upgraded the 4610 to v2.0 firmware. This indeed seemed to fix the studder dialtone problem but rendered the display inoperable. You can see the boot messages but the display is blank once the phone boots.

I can't back-version it because I cannot find version 1.99 of the firmware.

1.99 is not a real working release of the firmware. You can't operate a 403 with it. It's only purpose was to upgrade the loader on a 403 in preperation for upgrading to 2.x

I'm referring to the firmware version of the phone; not the IP Office.
