Phone Manager BLF Error (not working)
I have a customer running phone manager lite on their PC and everything works except for the busy lamp fields under the speed dials section. When someone on the system comes off hook, there is no inication on the user's PC. they have over 10 other users running lite, and they all work. the user has the correct PBX address and username under the configuration section. they are running 2.0 IP Office.
Any ideas on what might be causing the problem? Perhaps corrupted software or bad TAPI? Please help. |

Re: Phone Manager BLF Error (not working)
Personaly I would suspect the shoru cut in PM,
delete & recreate the short cut. Another posibility may be the windows XP firewall.

! TAPI's nothing to do with it, ignore.
If the BLF works fine form making calls to that user then we know its programmed correctly. The BLF updates are sent from the IP Office as a broadcast to 255.255.255.255 to any Phone Manager users. So its possible that some bridge/router/firewall between the user and the IP Office is blocking broadcast traffic. |

Re: Phone Manager BLF Error (not working)
thanks for the tip, especially regarding TAPI. I will check the firewall. Perhaps the individual has the MS personal firewall turned on at their computer.
A few clarifications: 1. the user is on the LAN 2. the shorcut in PM seems to be working fine as it can be used to dial the user, only the BLF won't work. |

Re: Phone Manager BLF Error (not working)
Its possible that something is blocking the status signalling
reaching that PC, a firewall or router between between the IP Office and the PC. The status signalling is broadcast traffic and (to the best of my memory) uses port 50795(!). If possible temporarily connect the PC direct to the IP Office or run another copy of Phone Manager on a directly connected PC. |
