Question Huntgroup + fallback + VM

I was wondering what the normal ring order on this is:
I have a hunt group with 3-5 people in it. I then have another huntgroup called 'Fallback' set as the fallback for this hunt group. I currently *don't* have VM enabled for this hunt group, and was wondering how this would all exactly work if I did have it enabled? Would it ring to the hunt for the specified "Overflow" time then to the Fallback until the "Allocated Answer time" expired and *then* go to VM or what?

I'm kinda confused on this.. :confused:
Any help is appreciated..
Thanks,
mallgood

Nope, once hunt A is in fallback mode, all calls go to the fallback Hunt Group

Hrm. Thats strange. I have the Voice Mail for the Fallback group setup and working, but instead of going to voicemail, its ringing back to the original huntgroup and then fallback and then huntgroup, and then.... etc etc.. What if I setup the VM for the main huntgroup?

Anyone?

what I like to do is make a short code in the PBX to go to the desired mailbox, but mke sure the short code resembles an extension (5xxx or whatever) then create a new user, forward that user unconditionally to that short code and also check the "forward hunt group calls" box on the user>forwarding tab along with forward unconditionally. Then put the user as a member of your fallback group. You can test by calling the group, you should go to the mailbox your user is forwarded to.

Malgood, are you confusing fallback with overflow? You can setup both kinds of backup groups for a hunt group...

It appears that I am! I think the thing that is confusing me is that my "Overflow Group" is called 'Fallback'.
This is what I have configured.
Incoming -> AA (timeout) -> Main(Hunt) -> Fallback(Overflow).

So how does Overflow work? If the call isn't answered by "Main" and it overflows to "Fallback", if "Fallback" doesn't answer does it go to the "Main" VM Box?

Re: Huntgroup + fallback + VM

Correct, subject to how you have your timers setup. It will commence to bounce around your overflow groups starting at the overflow time, then once the allocated answer interval is reached (assuming voicemail is active for the main group) the call will go to voicemail for the main group. It will never go to an overflow groups mailbox.
