AT-X Command

I have an IP403 Office (Version 1.3) that I did a AT-X2, AT-X3 & AT-X command. After doing these commands, the box does not boot at all. All that I see is:
P2 Loader 0.7 (4MB-2xLV160 Flash-120nS SDRAM-10)
CPU Revision 0x0502

I have set the IP address of my PC to 192.168.42.2 and I can't ping 192.168.42.1 so therefore the Manager can't see the Unit.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what to try? Can any programming be done via the DTE port? How can I find out what other commands are available through the DTE port?

Re: AT-X Command

Did you ensure you had a copy of manager running with a proper bootp entry, and the correct .bin files? There is a job-aid called "DTE port maintenance" that takes you through the proper procedure for defaulting an IPO this way.

I did have manager running with the proper bootp entry, and the correct .bin files. I also did follow the procedures in the job-aid called "DTE port maintenance" . Still no luck getting the unit up and running.

Re: AT-X Command

what does your TFTP log say is happening?

I am sure you know it, but just in case in Manager go to view>tftp log

sometimes the box will come back witha 192.168.42.6 address instead of the normal 42.1 address, your tftp log will show you the deal though

I also have to ask, what prompted the DTE maintenance? If it was a failed upgrade to 2.0, make sure your 1.99 ip403.bin file is the current one in your manager directory, otherwise it will not come back to life.

Re: AT-X Command

The TFTP Log shows the start time but nothing else. I have the log open when I power cycle the unit but I get nothing.

I did the DTE Maintenance because I wanted to blow out the config and start from the factory default.

I wrote down what the MAC address was before I blew out the config. Is there anyway to find out what commands I can use from the DTE Port. Can I set an IP Address from the DTE port so that I can get the Manager to communicate with it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: AT-X Command

oops , AT-X is only needed to erase the BIN file & is not needed to default a system.

Back to Basics time

set PC IP address to 192.168.42.x
open manager
set manager to BROAD CAST address ( file preferences/edit)
make sure the the bin directory is pointed to the corect location of the bin files
(file/cjhange working directory)

add bootp entry for system as follows

Mac - Mac address of system
IP Address : 192.168.42.1
firl name - ip403.bin

if you are using 2.1 also make sure thet the bootp entry is enabled

Reboot system

if the system has been fully erased as you said & all the above information is correct then this WILL recover the unit.

Hope this is working for you, IP Guru nailed it as far as what you need to do now.

In the future, to default the config only, open Manager and go to File>Advanced>EraseConfig

Re: AT-X Command

It did not work. Here is what I tried:

I downloaded V2.0 (the unit was V1.3). I installed the Admin suite. I then moved the ip403.bin file from the IP403V1_99 directory to the Manager directory. I set my PC to 192.168.42.2. I then opened Manager and added the BootP entry: MAC: 000E07008720 / IP Address: 192.168.42.1 (I tried 42.6 also) / File Name: ip403.bin

I verified that the working directory was set to C:\Program Files\ Avaya\IP Office\Manager. Also the Broadcast address is: 255.255.255.255.

I then power cycled the Control Unit and nothing happens. The TFTP log shows nothing and when I connect to the DTE Port, I only get:
P2 Loader 0.7 (4MB-2xLV160 Flash-120nS SDRAM-10)
CPU Revision 0x0502

Re: AT-X Command

Yes, AT-X will send over the bin file that is in your bootp entries.

Maybe your 1.99 bin file went over correctly and it is now waiting for the 2.1 bin file to be upraded. What is the status of the lights on the 403? Are they flashing like a Christmas tree? If so, copy over the 2.1 403.bin file over to your working directory and use manager to open the config (it should connect fine) and use the upgrade wizard to perform the upgrade!

good luck!

Re: AT-X Command

I have made a little progress. I was originally trying to load the ip403.bin file from an XP PC. I am now trying from a WIN98SE PC. It now tries to load the bin file. Here is what the TFTP log shows:

Sending ip403.bin length 1806616 bytes to 192.168.42.1
(I will get this for several lines and then I get:)
Unable to send ip403.bin length 0 bytes
Failed to send ip403.bin... sent 0 of 1806616 bytes

It continues to go through the state of sending/failed to send/ unable to send

Any suggestions????????????????

Re: AT-X Command

It could be that the loader has failed to upgrade.
To re-iterate, if you are going from 1.x to 2.x you MUST go to 1.99 first, to ugrade the loader firmware.
Make sure that the BIN working directory in Manager is set to the folder with the 1.99 403 BIN file in.
1.99 will make all the light flash as mentioned by Gerg above, and the system will not function, other than to now enable an upgrade to 2.x.
Once at 1.99, the do it all again with the working directory set to the folder with the 2.x bin files.
