2030 Phones with IP403

Hi,
We' ve been using TP38's in our IP400 POTs expansion. Have just purchased 5 2030's to use in the IP403's DT ports, but the DT ports don't seem to be active!
Within Manager I can see the ports and they all have extensions configured!

All the phones are dead when plugged into these ports, the POTs phones are fine.

This is a product I've inherited from my predecessor, so not too experienced...but looking at all the docs, I should be able to plug these phones in and that should be it.

Thanks

Richard

Richard, you may want to try rebooting the IP office machine once you plug the phones in, if you haven't already done so. I know for expansion packs you need to reboot the unit before DT modules become 'visible'.

Thanks for the reply, the DT sockets are in the 403 main unit. We have an IP400 expansion with 8 POT's which are operating perfectly.

The ports seem to be live, but the phones are totally dead when plugged into the sockets.

I'm sure you've probably checked, but you didn't accidentally get a 403 with DS ports did you?

Definitely DT, listed as DT on the box and also within Manager.

Do the phones have to be connected via the patch panel, I don't have those sockets patched in. Just connecting directly into front of ip403 using rj45 to bt converter.

You can plug straight into the front panel. You shouldn't need the converter - try plugging straight into the RJ45 DT jack.

Re: 2030 Phones with IP403

Well..

I've either got a dead batch of DT sockets (but they are listed OK in Manager)
or
a bad batch of 2030 phones
or
the likeliest candidate, a dodgy rj45 to British Telecom convertor!

Re: 2030 Phones with IP403

Fixed the problem....

Picked up the 2030 phones at a bankruptcy auction!!
Dropped one and noticed the cabling into the bottom of the phone didn't look quite right....took out the cabling and put a standard modem cable in.....phones work!!

Looks like the phones had a combination of dodgy cables installed...

Fun

Thanks
