VMPro (2.0.16) Random Blank Voicemails

Hi all, first time here so be gentle!

I have VMPro (2.0.16) on WinXP Pro and all works fine except that I have started getting blank Voicemail messages (1Kb in size), initially I thought the caller hung up when they got the Vmail message, but that is not the case!
I know this because it happened to me when I was doing some testing re: this problem.
The thing is, it is very random as the very next message gets recorded fine.

My first fix was to restart the VMPro service, the problem appeared to go away. Until this morning when my chairman left 4 messages for his PA and two of them were blank. So now I need to explain to him why/how it happened and more importantly fix it!

I notice from another thread that there is an update available, 2.0.18?? So I'll call my reseller and see if I can get hold of it.

But if anyone here has any advice I'd be very grateful.

Regards

Chris

Chris, in spite of Avaya's assurance that XP Pro is fine for VMPro, in my personal experience there are issues there. I would consider changing the OS to Win2K which seems to be more stable as a platform for IP Office applications.

Thanks Cephas.
Hmm, I took your advice and moved VMPro to a Win2K server last night.
Then early this morning I called and left a message on one of mailboxes and unfortunately it was not recorded along with 2 others!
ARGH!
Interestingly though, it appears to be affecting only 2 users; although I don't want to ask the whole company because all kinds of grief will probably happen then!
This has become a real issue now!
So any help gratefully received!

VMPro is the only thing running on this server, right? I would try deleting those two mailboxes completely (delete the folders off the hard drive) and setup the mailboxes again, see what that does for you. Are you starting with a clean install of Win2K? It doesn't have to be server, Win2K Pro works fine. Don't try to run it on an existing server that's doing other things, though - it should be on its own machine.
