Question No VAL boards detected problem

Hi, All
I got a problem when I started to connect VAL board via VAL Manager. In VAL Manager's status pane, it shows "Connection Succeeded" but the next step it shows "No VAL boards detected".
I also checked in data floder in VAL Manager part, it has val_error log file. In this log file, it shows "ConnectionHadler:getBoards null".

How do I solve this problem?
Note:
I installed VAL board(TN2501AP FW006) in Avaya S8700 and used VAL Manager Release 1.0.014

Thanks
Popcer

Look at this thread: How difficult is the installation of (VAL) circuit pack (TN2501AP) and make sure that all of the programming steps have been completed. Execute a ping test to insure that the VAL board can see the network.

Re: No VAL boards detected problem

First of all you should look at display capacity and find out that you have got the license to put the VAL board in the system.

Re: No VAL boards detected problem

Dear all
I already checked all programming steps and license in Avaya S8700. Everythings are fine. For testing, I can use ping command for VAL connection. Also I can use FTP command to access VAL board.

Do you guys think this problem comes from VAL Manager?

Thanks

Dear all
I already solved my problem. First of all, I updated FW7 into VAL board. Then I reinstalled VAL Manger with the newer version (1.2.6). So everything are fine.
Anyway, I used to install VAL boards(TN2501AP) into DEF R10 and connect via VAL Manager (1.0.0).

Does the older version of VAL Manager support S8700 platform?

Thanks

Re: No VAL boards detected problem

Hi,

try using a newer version of the VAL Manager.
Also take care your val board is updated to a higher version than firmware 7, otherwise you might lose announcements.

Re: No VAL boards detected problem

We had a problem were by the Val had no MAC address on CM 2.2 however replacing the cable in the rear of the MCC seemed to resolve this.

Just incase you have CM2.2. Avaya had a PCN out for the VAL board.

Cheers
