Post How do you trace a call?

How can you trace a call in the Definity???

We use a call accounting package. I dont know of any other way.

If you are running 8.1 and higher there is a list trace command where you specify the extension you wish to monitor.

List trace station XXXX. You will only see the trace upon call, meaning if a call is in progress you won't see the information. When the station picks up the line to make a call, your screen will start displaying ALL the information of that call (trunk, number dialed). Hope that is what you were looking for. cj

We use ECas. You can use it with Definity,Magix/Legend and Partner systems.

ECas or Call Accounting packages for that matter don't trace calls, they generate a record based on how the system cdr form is populated. list trace will show when a phone goes off hook, digits dialed, routes choosen, trunk groups selected. Far more than a cdr record can tell you.
