Question VAL board Capacity question?

Okay, one more question regarding the VAL board. Does anyone use their VAL board for a high traffic application? We will be using this for a snow report.... Currently the application resides on a MAP100 Conversant box, and at peak we are seeing between 1000 to 2000 calls per day. I know that this is supposed to acceptable according to Avaya, but I just wanted to check w/ someone who actually used it in such a capacity.

The VAL Board has 33 Ports. Port 33 is your ethernet port, Port 32 is your recording port and the other 31 ports are for Announcement playback. The S8700 is capable of playing an announcement on a single port to 1000 callers simultaneously. The same announcement can (and regularly does) play on multiple ports with different start times. Therefore, it is theoretically possible for the system to be playing the same announcement to 31,000 people simultaneously. While this is unlikely, I'm quite confident that the system will handle 1,000 - 2,000 calls per day without even blinking.

regs,

Re: VAL board Capacity question?

Thanks Al! You really got this stuff down. Although we are using a G3R I'm sure your advice will pertain. My boss is just a little concerned whenever we make changes to our switch.

Anyway that single recording port kinda answers my question about recording delays.

Pull down the Capacity file from my latest post and look for "recorded announcements" to find out the G3r capacities.
