Question Converting a rob-bit DS1 to ISDN-PRI

Hello,

I will be upgrading my LD trunk to a PRI. Is this a fairly easy process in regards to my pbx provisioning?

I have a G3SI running Multivantage 1.1.3

I know i need to replace my DS1 pack with a TN464. I also need to do the following:

"Cha ds1 xxxxx" as the old circuit AMI/SF and change it toB8ZS/ESF

"Add Signal-group XX"

"Cha trunk-group XX" As i need to indicate this trunk this trunk is a PRI and the protocal that will be used. I know there are more fields to populate in this area. But i aready have 2 PRI active that i can copy from.

Is there anything i might have missed? Is there a certain order i need to perform this in?

This particular trunk is routed through my ARS tables. Will this upgrade cause potential routing problems ? Also if there is a avaya document that would help me in this upgrade can someone give a link to get this infomation?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Re: Converting a rob-bit DS1 to ISDN-PRI

the ARS will remain the same and as long as you just modify the existing trunk the route patterns will remain the same also.

You will have to remove the robbed-bit members from the old Trunk group before you can modify the configuration. But other than that you are right on track.

If you get message about possible corruption when changing the DS1 parameters, it's always best to delete the ds1 config 1st, then re-add....

you need to call Avaya and have them fix the data corruption problem.
