Here's the problem I'm having and I'm sorry also if this is just something simple that I've overlooked. I'm trying to set up an auto attd in a voice mail box so people can transfer out and won't have to use the *T ext then # keys. In other words I would like them to just type in the extension. I have all that setup and it works great except for one problem, when I'm in that voice box It appears that I must transfer out of it, I no longer have the option of leaving a voice mail in that extension, and that's not what I'm trying to accomplish. I would like the callers to be able to transfer out using extension only but also be able to leave voice mail in the extension they are in also. Any help would be welcomed
Thanks in advance Audix LX Messaging System |

You can transfer out of audix using the *t then # sign, however if you set up an auto attendant to allow digit transfer you will not be able to leave message's in that mail box, you can however leave an option for them to leave a message at a different mailbox, and on the phone change the message indictator for that new mail box. That is the only way I know of... hopefully someone else will know a better solution..

If you are trying to tranfer from the AA by dialing the extension only, you must put an "e" in the extension field for the first digit of the extension number. The treatment field would have "transfer"
Hope that helps. |

Auto-Attendents are just that, Attendents. They are designed to MOVE voice traffic to a specific location and are not designed to accept messages. What you _COULD_ do is make the zero-point of a person's mailbox an auto-attendant that would, among other options, allow transfers via direct digit dialing without the need for *T<ext>#. They could then advise callers to "leave a message or press zero for additional options" in their personal greeting but you cannot make their mailbox an attendent if you wish them to be able to receive voicemail messages in that box.
