Re: Conference/Speaker Telephone

I hate to be a party pooper, but I've had several of the Polycom digital speakerphones (Avaya) fail after being in service for less than two years. I've gone back to using their analog speakerphones where I have to. It's not as graceful of a solution as it needs it's own separate analog line but the quality is reasonable and I haven't lost one yet after several years. Your mileage may vary of course.

Re: Conference/Speaker Telephone

Thanks all for your replies. I definitely have the Avaya model (confirmed model number, and it has the Avaya logo on it!) At this point, I think my unit is defective.

If you haven't already, you might want to take a few moments and verify that the port and wiring are working properly before running out to buy a new conference phone...

Re: Conference/Speaker Telephone

It's a working port (8410D station works fine) and I did try other ports as well. Thanks for the idea though.

Re: Conference/Speaker Telephone

You're welcome, just wanted to make certain you had all the bases covered cos this particular bit of troubleshooting hadn't been discussed before.
