Caller ID Information on PRI
We are not receiving the "name" information of the callers when we receive incoming calls, only the phone numbers. There are no restrictions on our trunk groups according to the carriers and there are no restrictions on our trunk groups in the Avaya PBX to our knowledge. We made some test calls to our home numbers and the name of the caller appears on the caller-ID. We need to understand why the name does not appear at work. Does anyone out there know if there is a fix for this problem?

In incoming-call-handling-treatment for the trunk, there is a field.. per call cpn/bn and you have 5 options
CPN-Only (Calling Party NAme only) CPN-Pref (if name not available send number) BN-Only (Billing # only) BN-Pref (if not avail send name) and none since my phones only display 2 lines, and the 2nd line is the vdn that was dialed, I use bn-only, I do not have a need for name, and this way client services has the number to help verify the caller,, so just put in one entry with the length of your extensions, and what you want to be sent to the phones... I changed the trunk group Service type to: "public-network" and to "cpn-pref" on the 3rd page. I ran a list trace tac and this is what came up:
"Calling Number & Name NO-CPNumber NO-CPName" I don't know if this means this information is not being sent by the carrier? We ARE receiving the numbers, but not the Names. |
