writing a call vector

does anybody know of a good place to find information on writing call vectors? i have quite a few i'm going to have to write in the next few months, and it looks absolutely overwhelming! I understand the basics of how it works, but there's so many options. Is there someplace online that I can look and see what all the different options would do?

Try here. Select the correct release of CM you have. http://support.avaya.com/japple/css/...&PAGE=Document

Re: writing a call vector

Be sure to check out "variables" including "VDN variables", very powerful. Another very useful tool is the "return" step in the vectors. CM 4.0 and above contain 702 vector variables and expands vectors from 32 to 99 steps. Enjoy !

Re: writing a call vector

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

01 wait-time 1 secs hearing ringback
02 collect 1 digits after announcement 70014
03 route-to number 51234 with cov y if digit = 1
04 route-to number 52343 with cov y if digit = 2

After it plays the announcement it just hangs up. I'm not sure how to make it wait for the person calling to push a button.

Re: writing a call vector

check page 11 of your system-parameters features
under vectoring, see what your "prompting timeout" is...

Code:
VECTORING
Converse First Data Delay: 0 Second Data Delay: 2
Converse Signaling Tone (msec): 100 Pause (msec): 70
                     Prompting Timeout (secs): 5
                 Interflow-qpos EWT Threshold: 2
Reverse Star/Pound Digit For Collect Step? n
Available Agent Adjustments for BSR? n
                             BSR Tie Strategy: 1st-found

Re: writing a call vector

It says 10 seconds. As soon as the announcement is done playing (which is only maybe three seconds, I just recorded something quick to test this all with) it just hangs up.

Re: writing a call vector

does it actually hang up,,, or just silence?
put in one more step to see..
05 goto step 2 if unconditinally
then see if it loops you back to the collect digit step, and how long it takes...

It actually was hanging up. Putting that next line in did the trick though. Thanks much!

Re: writing a call vector

Just to make sure, you did put a stop command at the end of your vector didn't you?

While it looks like you've solved the problem, another great Vector trouble-shooting tool is the "display events" command. It will typically tell you where and why your vector is failing.
