blocking a number
I work for a hospital, and the last four digits of our pharmacy fax line is 2558, and the phone number ending in 2559 is some poor guys house. Somebody from another fax machine within the hospital is constantly hitting 2559 instead of 2558 and ringing this guys house, sometimes very late at night. Is there a way I could block calls going out to this guys house, even if it were just blocked from this one fax machine?

Since they are getting this guy's home they are not just dialing the station number, they are dialing 9,xxx2559. In that case the calls can be denied in your ARS pattern.
In ARS enter the full number and in the route pattern field enter "deny". This will deny all calls.

Correct; someone long before I was here convinced everyone that an internal fax will only go through if you dial out, dialing 9xxxxxxx. I have of course proven that theory wrong for them many times, but nobody listens to me. :)

If a user is dialing "9+" to reach an internal extension then that extension is obviously a DID number. To prevent users from doing this - and tying up TWO trunks, one out, one in - I setup ARS Analysis to deny calls to the DID range. Setup the 7 digit, 10 digit and 11 digit patterns.
