Changing Abbreviated dialing button on Multiple phones

Hello,

I am working on a project where I am having to change the coverage
path and a abbreviated dial button dial code on several hundred phones
at one time.

Coverage path change - no problem.

I am trying to use ASA Find & Replace command.

I am selecting Station and Change.

Filters I am using:

Field: Value:
Extension "List of extensions separated by comma"
Abrv-Dialing List 3 Type "System"
Abrv-Dialing List 3 Number (this is where I have an issue)
Dial-Code "99"

So I am not sure what Abbreviated-Dialing List X Number is?
What number is it looking for? I have tried 1, 3, 99, and not using
this field.
If I can get this to work correctly, I will be able to save several
hours and countless stress on my fingers....:)

Thanks,

Jim

The List entry refers to Page 3 of the station form where you may see 3 possible list entries. For entries in those fields you can have system lists, group lists, and a personal list. So if you only need to change an entry in a system list it will change on any button that refers to that list. Try "change abbr sys"

e.g.
In other words this button entry: abrv-dial List: 2 DC: 02
refers to whatever entry is in slot 2 of list 2 for that station. If list 2 on that station is the system list then you would change entry 2 of the system list.

Re: Changing Abbreviated dialing button on Multiple phones

Fatal,

Thanks but I am migrating users from one abrv-dial button to another.
I am having to migrate 200-300 users at a time (out of 14000).

I know I could make a global change, that would be great and save me a lot of time but the schedule of the migration does not allow for this.

So what I am needing to find out is what is ASA looking for when trying to make
a change to the abrv-dial button on each 6408D+??

So in either Find & Replace or Import data there is
Abbreviated-dialing List 1-3 type (this is either System, Personal, etc)
Then there is
Abbreviated-dialing List 1-3 Number (I believe this is for the multiple Personal, Enhanced, etc groups that you can have)
is there a entry for System in this field?

I have tried 0, 1, no entry with the same results, no change.

Try this at home.... :)

Go into Import Data and pick an extension that's ok to play with.

Try and change the abrv-dial button on the phone and see what happens.

No there is only one system list as opposed to multiple group lists etc... I think you may be out of luck, b/c I am unaware of a method to change station buttons in bulk unless you can create a template of the station you want and then duplicate that station for all others.
