G650 powerdown

I have s8700's with an MCC hanging off it on my main data center floor. Then I have a G650 on a different floor that is connected directly to an expansion interface card in teh MCC via fiber. There is a planned powerdown for only the floor that houses the g650. Once the room loses power and the G650 loses power what happens when the power is restored? Will it automatically recover and reconnect to the MCC and phones power up or does something manually need to be done ?

Re: G650 powerdown

It will restore automatically. But since the loss of this port network will generate a major alarm, whoever is providing maintenance support will get the alarm notification.

You should alert them to this happening so they do not react to the major.

Re: G650 powerdown

so there is no need to do any sort of busyout commands for the expansion interface?? Just pull the plug and plug back in??

Re: G650 powerdown

Correct. The G650 does not retain any translation information, it is just a dumb carrier. Once power is restored (and assuming no other cables or crossconnects have been changed), it will come back to life in a few minutes. But while it is down you will have the alarm I mentioned earlier.
