Coverage Answer-Group

Avaya G3 Rel 14
Created a new coverage answer group 2 and added 2 extensions. Created new coverage path and added c2.
Added new coverage path to designated telephone. When I test neither extension rings.
Ideas anyone?
Thanks so much.

Re: Coverage Answer-Group

Please show us your cov answer group and your coverage path. It sounds like you didn't change your number of rings to 1 on your coverage path.

Re: Coverage Answer-Group

A cov path will ring the Principal based on the path criteria; ie busy, active, etc and the number of rings only apply to the Principal. If the Principal is on Send Calls, or meets any of the 'Y' criteria or # of rings OR has an 'X' port the call will go immediately to Pt-1. If Pt-1 is the 'c2' entry an attempt will be made to ring those stations. If neither of them ring due to Send Calls on, are busy, etc. call goes to the Pt-2 in the path. Test will be invalid if there are bridged appearances involved, be careful. Test will also fail if the calling phone is one of those in c2.

Be sure all is setup correctly, all stations are idle and NOT Send Calls then issue 'list trace station xxx' where xxx is the Principal. From a separate phone launch the call and trace show you exactly what is happening.

Coverge paths can drive you nuts!
