firmware upgrade procedure

I have searched... and found info on FW upgrades, yet I am still apprehensive since I have not done it.

I have noted statements like ' make sure your HW version matches' , etc

does anyone have a successful approach, documented? (Leaving out all the other hundreds of pages of info which really doesn't apply.) I am basically looking for an ABC,123 this is exactly what you need to do instructions.

Measure twice, cut once -- carpenters proverb

If anything, I would appreciate some 'its not really a big deal' type of reassuring statements, to raise the confidence level.

thanks in adv.

Re: firmware upgrade procedure

thank you!
is there a way to see if the boards are already setup?
also -
I have logged into the s8710 through the web browser. And it looks like the firmware could be upgraded through this. Which is recommended?

Re: firmware upgrade procedure

Follow the document I posted, it will lead you through the process. Upgrading an S8710 is covered in it.

What do you mean by the boards being already set up? Doing a list config all will show the existing firmware on the board. There will not be an active login and password active on the CLAN nor will the software loads you want to upload be already there.

Re: firmware upgrade procedure

do you have any directions for the new screens that ask for a firmware download number between 1-4. Also, the screen asks for a file server. I can't find any updated instructions on the Avaya web site.
