Off PBX EXT
How do you go about finding out the far end of a off-pbx-ext? I see the ext in the switch as a 2500 type and the off Premise Station field is flagged to y.
Besides the above question how do these ext. typically work ? |

Re: Off PBX EXT
This is an Analog port (Tip & Ring), simular to the type of phone you typically find in a residential home. Having the Off Premise set to Y simply increases the output level of the station, and is recommended in most settings.

Re: Off PBX EXT
This is usually (but not always) an analog phone installed at a location outside your PBX, someone's home for example. If you do not know where it goes, trace the jumper to the CO cable pair and call your local vendor. They will the record of where this phone is (or was) installed.

Re: Off PBX EXT
Call the vendor and give them the circuit ID, they can tell you where the other end is and then you can decide if you still need it and the monthly fee you are being charged.
