Re: DS1 alarms

1281= Loss Of Signal
1793= Blue Alarm
2049= Red Alarm
3073= Slips
1300= LOS
2305= Yellow Alarm

Either you are having issues with a DS1, or you have one in programming that is not in use. Errors can be found in the Maintenance-Object Repair Procedure chapter of the Maintenance book in the CD that should have come with your box.

Re: DS1 alarms

Your PBX does not see a T1, all those errors will come from having a T1 programmed but no circuit. If you believe there should be a T1 there, call your vendor. It will be alarming them too.

Re: DS1 alarms

Find out what board the errors are logged against. If the errors are looged on the active error log, they are happening as you look. You can then test it. You can also look at the error log for resolved errors to get a history by doing a Display Errors command, change the Active to Errors, set the Interval to W=last 7 days or M=last 30 days, and enter in the board location ( ie 1a12 etc). Just because the span is up now does not mean it always has run error free. And a span can stay up even if it is taking Errored Seconds or Slips.

To see what DS1's or E1's are optioned you can run a list configuration ds1.

Re: DS1 alarms

i did check errors by doing 'dispaly errors' and again i see '3073'(slip) with aux 22 aqand err counter 255. Now how do i go about investigating and get rid of this?

shall i busy out and release board and then test board? is this correct procedure?

Re: DS1 alarms

The errors you are getting are not errors you can fix by yourself, you will need to work with the vendor. You can make sure that it is not a physical problem with the DS1 board by putting a loopback plug into it and see if it clears up and runs clean.

If it runs clean looped back to itself then you know that it is not a board failure. Next plug your cable back in and loop it back from the demarc, if it still runs clean then you know it is not your wiring or board. Restore the circuit and call the vendor.

To make a loopback jack and plug (because you will need both), loop the white/blue pair to the white/orange pair. Physically that is leads 1 & 2 to leads 4 & 5.

Re: DS1 alarms

Also, with an 8300 you need to set the Sync in the Config file of the G350 or G700.
Three commands are used from the server config CLI:
  1. Show sync timing (to ID the current sync source)
  2. Set sync interface primary vX (to enable the DS1 MM to be a source of sync timing on ds1 slot X)
  3. Set sync source primary (to activate the primary sync source)
