Firmware Upgrades

I haev done a 'lis confi all' and have all the details of my boards. I then went on support.avaya.com into the section where the available firware downloads are. I did find some boards that did match and have an available firmware download but I have some of the same exact boards with a different suffice/vintage that aren't listed on the avaya site for an upgrade. Does that just mean for that specific board there is nothing available or should I be looking somewhere else?

Re: Firmware Upgrades

I have a TN2224 C P HW05 FW01 and avaya's site has this with a new FW of 15... I also have a TN2224 B with a vintage of 000003 and that board isn't listed on avaya's site.

Re: Firmware Upgrades

The TN2224B cannot be upgraded. Generally if the board does not display with a HWxx FWxx, there is no upgrade for it. Another guide is the "P" in the suffix, that shows a programmable card.

It's not just the latest firmware available that you must look for. You must FIRST AND FOREMOST download the Latest Communication Manager Software & Firmware Compatibility Matrix to insure that the firmware that you are downloading is compatible with your particular CM release. The latest firmware is not always compatible with older releases and a failure to check this compatibility matrix could result in very undesirable results.

Re: Firmware Upgrades

if I went to support.avaya.com, logged in and went to the download center and cross referenced my SL#..are the results that get spit out accurate and safe or do I still need to do more research on that?

Re: Firmware Upgrades

If you went there from your "My Sites" page you should be okay because you should only see options that apply to you. But if you just went directly to the downloads page then you will see everything.

But just to be safe, I would still cross reference to the compatibility doc that Al referenced.
