MWI Intuity

I have a problem with an Intuity Audix turning on all of the Message Waiting Indicator lights on all of the phones at once. When the messages are checked there aren't any messages. They were all turned off but they came back on. The release of the Intuity is 5.1. Has anyone ever seen this or know how to administer this. I haven't found it in any of the fields of the Audix Administration.

Re: MWI Intuity

I have not seen this before but my guess is that there is a bit stuck somewhere in the Intuity software. When a message is left for one person, all the message lights come on. That is my immediate guess. If you don't have too many mailboxes you can verify this after all the lights come on by displaying the activity log for each user. If this guess is correct there will be a correlation between a message being left and all the lights coming on.

That is a lot of work however and it won't fix it. I would reboot the Intuity and see if the problem goes away.

Re: MWI Intuity

Well after trying the reboot the lights came back on after 10 minutes. We are going to replace it. The Intuity is a 5.1 and I really hope this works!!! The funny thing about it is that the Intuity generates no alarms......hmmmm

Re: MWI Intuity

Have you called Avaya and asked their help? That would be cheaper and less disruptive than replacing it.

Re: MWI Intuity

what is the current version of 5.1? there is a software upgrade for 5.1, I would check that before replacing it. Unless you are having other issues, or are going to be in the need of more RTU's in the future.

Re: MWI Intuity

Could it be a 'Broadcast Message' issue - something or some mailbox sending it? Just throwing that out there .... Q

Re: MWI Intuity

This post is a bit old, did you solve it yet? I agree on the broadcast issue. When the lights come one, log into one of the boxes and see if there is a message from "someone" even without a recorded message. Check that originating extension for broadcast. Been there, done that.....
