Codeset for Display on ISDN Trunk Grp

There are two fields on an ISDN type trunk group involving codesets. I beleive these have to do with how the Definity handles sending display information. One field is Codeset to Send Display and the other is Codeset to Send National IE's.

For the Codeset to Send Display I have options 0,6 and 7. For National IE I have 6 and 7. I assume that 0 means it sends no information. However does anyone know the difference between 6 and 7? Also this might be a dumb-dumb question but what does IE stand for?

Thanks!

Let me change me above remarks. I don't think 0 sends nothing. Actually I found a difference, so if anyone knows what 0,6 or 7 mean in terms of differences that would be most appreciated.

Re: Codeset for Display on ISDN Trunk Grp

Here is the answer right from the document CD that comes with the switch.

Codeset to Send Display

0 - CCITT (non-Communication Manager equipment)
6 - Any other than CCITT or System 85 R2V4, 4E11
7 - System 85 R2V4, 4E11

Codeset to Send National IEs (IE stands for information element)

6 - Other types
7 - System 85 R2V4, 4E11, or newer media server/switch types

I have never found a reason to change these values from the default
