testing ds1 boards
I have a user that's complained about a few dropped calls... saying starting with static and then just dropped out. I seem to have some warning alarms on 1 of my PRI's. How do I tell if it's the board itself or a carrier hit?? if i do the test board long clear command will it take the board out of service??

Re: testing ds1 boards
A test board long is not service affecting. You can cancel the test after 146 completes because the rest of the tests are for the channels. If test 144 fails, test the board again and 144 should pass this time. That test is the number of times the board has had slip errors since the last time it was tested.

Re: testing ds1 boards
The second one did open. You are getting a large number of errored second flags, so that T1 does have issues. Test the board, what are the results?

Re: testing ds1 boards
It is not service affecting, no one on a call will know you are doing this. The first tests (50-146 if you do a long test) test the board and the span. Cancel the test after 146 because you are not interested in the channels.

Re: testing ds1 boards
if I do a disp errors on today's date i have a few errors which look like unconnected stations. Should I just have the carrier test this circuit overnight due to the ES?? I'm assuming the passes on the test board command indicates the hardware board is ok on the switch.

Re: testing ds1 boards
Did you disp errors or just the default active alarms? Just to make sure type "display error", then change the "Error List" field to errors then go down to board number and enter the board number. Any results?
