Cajun Switch

I have my 2 s8710 servers and the Avaya Cajun switch on a seperate Avaya ups. the g650 gateways and vm are all on the data center ups. the building power will be shutdown in a few weeks to prepare for a new generator (thank heavens). While this work is being performed they are running a temp generator right to our data center ups to keep the room up with ac for the duration of this work. since the avaya ups isn't daisy chained to the data center ups it will not make it. I would like to move the 2 servers onto the data center ups along with the Avaya Cajun Switch.

I'm going to shutdown the standby s8710 server, move that power cord from the avaya ups over to an outlet on the data center ups, bring back up that server and then do an interchange. I will then shutdown the other server which will be made standby after the interchange, move that over and then power it back up. Will that suffice?? Also, by unplugging the cajun switch and moving outlets will it automatically reattach itself to the servers/network?? I'm trying to avoid any downtime in doing this.

Re: Cajun Switch

Why don't you just plug in the Avaya UPS with the equipment still attached to the data center UPS? The Avaya UPS should hold while you plug it into the UPS and you'll have no disruption of service and won't have to go through various shutdowns, etc.

Re: Cajun Switch

can't do that.. the circuit on that breaker isn't on my data center ups and the outlet type is different.
