IP Phones behind a router
Hello Guys,
I have a problem with some IP Phones sitting behind a "circus" (I mean cisco) router. Everytime they reset the router (it happens a lot of times), I have to reset the IP Phones in order to establish connection with the S8500. Is there a way to find the S8500 automatically? Thanks |

Re: IP Phones behind a router
sawasc,
Did you setup a independant TFTP server for downloading of upgrade scrips and application files including the settings.txt file to the IP phones. Everytime de IP phones lost connection and repair they connect to the TFTP server. I have 46xx IP Phones with a S8700 and it works great. gr |

Re: IP Phones behind a router
Hello savvasc,
Yes I`m very sure, but you can also better manage your telephone settings, backup upsettings for each IP Phone (personalized ring, edit dialing etc) and the c.m will less burden. Make sure you set up the parameter SET FTPSRVR [+ ip address TFTP server] in the xxsettings.txt file which you can download from the Avaya site. See also the Avaya IP Telephone Lan Administrator Guide gr |
