UPS/Powerdown

My S8710 servers are connected to a 3000va avaya ups. if the draw from what I'm reading is 420va for the 2 servers how long do I have before the ups gives out?

There's gotta be a way to do the math ... but I ain't that bright. What I -DO- know is that the standard, minimum, 1000va, rack-mount UPS that generally ships in pairs with a pair of S8710 servers will hold each server up for 18 minutes (according to Avaya) and a little over 1 hour with an EBM attached to each UPS. Mind you, this doesn't include any gateways or other devices, just the S8710.

Al does bring up an excellent point here. If all you have plugged into the UPS is the S8710, the times provided by Avaya are more-or-less accurate, but anything else plugged into the UPS will reduce its' holdover time.

my building is shutting off the power this evening for about an hour and I'm trying to avoid having to powerdown the servers if possible.
