Re: Avaya/Cisco comparison report
Interesting document, looks like Avaya beats Cisco in just about everything. This should help your case.

Re: Avaya/Cisco comparison report
It is an interesting article. The one thing I have always wondered is what sort of actual data they use to calculate the cost of MACs. I seem to recall reading someone's opinion on this site that a lot of that was probably Cisco propaganda to justify their system. In this article they say a TDM MAC (Move, Add or Change) costs $168 on average while a VoIP one costs $20. I can't figure out how. I have done both and don't see how it takes more time or effort to do a TDM MAC than an IP one. Assuming the wiring plants for TDM voice and data are both properly installed and labeled the primary difference between the two is that with TDM you use a cross connect tool and with VoIP you use patch cables. I think the analysis is skewed. Do they assume that with VoIP your empty locations are cross connected while with TDM your empty locations are not punched down? If they are connected then it is really simple (especially with TTI). The only assumption I would make is that an untrained person could possible connect patch cables on a punch down block more easily than they could cross connect a TDM system.
