Recording announcements remotely

Systems is a G3s1 v10

For business continuity purposes I need to supply the response team with the ability to record announcements remotely. An example would be a pandemic and no one can come into the office and we need various annoucements changed.

Since it takes console permissions to change announcements, is a barrier code the only way to do that? I set up a code with a COR that has console permissions and it works fine.

I do that very often , The only way is to administer "change remote-acess" extension and assign a DID number to it. You can set barrier code for security, and give console permissions to the extension assigned there.

Re: Recording announcements remotely

To be more secure (but more complicated) setup remote admin as a non-DID, dial into your Audix, *8 Transfer out to the non-did and proceed as above. This provides an additional layer of secruity as the caller must have a valid Audix mailbox.

Re: Recording announcements remotely

Don't have Audix, it's Octel. Same thing I suppose though any auto attendant would let a caller transfer to a non-DID extension. The caller doesn't have to have a mailbox on the system. I can't think of a way right of the top of my head to restrict transferring to an internal extension ONLY if the caller has a mailbox.
