Broadcast Extension - Intuity MAP 100
We need to setup a Broadcast extension on our Avaya Intuity MAP 100 voicemail system. Can anyone please help us set this up? We've already added a bogas extension to Audix and configured it as a Broadcast Mailbox, but it does not work. There is probably a lot more programming that we're missing. Please assist.

Re: Broadcast Extension - Intuity MAP 100
Creating a Broadcast Mailbox
A single broadcast mailbox must be assigned before any broadcast messages can be sent. The broadcast mailbox cannot receive voice mail. It is strictly for saving delivered broadcast messages. Go to AUDIX Administration. Type in add subscriber xxx and Enter (xxx being the mailbox # that you want to be the broadcast mailbox). Give the mailbox a name, i.e. broadcast mailbox. Switch Number : Enter 0, which means that the Broadcast Mailbox has a voice messaging mailbox but does not have an extension on the switch. Tab to Broadcast Mailbox? And type a y. Press Next Page to access Page 2 of the Subscriber screen. Enter data in Page 2 for each of the following fields: Permissions Type: none Permissions, Broadcast : none Incoming Mailbox, Retention Times (days) : Enter the maximum number of days for which you want a broadcast message active on your system. Enter the same number of days for New, Old, and Unopened. Press F3 to save. NOTE: The only time the Broadcast Mailbox field is used is when creating the 'Broadcast Mailbox' for a system. You can enter this data only through the ADD SUBSCRIBER command. If you want to change the broadcast mailbox, you must remove the current broadcast mailbox and add a new one with the desired changes. Back to top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How to give Broadcast Permissions: Once the Broadcast Mailbox has been created, you must give all subscribers that wish to use the feature, 'Broadcast' permissions via a 'Class of Service.' To modify a Class of Service to include broadcast messaging: From the AUDIX Administration Enter Command line, type change cos (1 or 2-digit cos #) or ch co (#); - where the # may be anything the system administrator chooses 0 through 11. Tab to Broadcast' and type voice. Press F3 to Enter and save the COS. You may now apply this class of service to all subscribers who will have broadcast messaging permissions. Back to top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To send a Broadcast Message: You must have broadcast permissions in order for the following steps to work. Call AUDIX and log into your mailbox Press 1 to create message and # to approve Press # to bypass addressing segment and hear a list of options. You may have up to six delivery options available after addressing a message, depending on the permissions you have been assigned. If the system does not recite the broadcast option, you don't have permission to send a broadcast message and should contact your system administrator Press 8 to make message Broadcast or 0 to listen to a list of Broadcast options and then # to approve |
