TonyTdi is on a distinguished road
Siemens Phonemail Vs Intuity LX

All,
I am just wrapping up an install of an
Avaya S8500 with intuity LX.
We are finding that the intuity LX is
much less user friendly than the Siemens
Voicemail. The main issues seems to be VIP's who are used
to answering/sending sending messages by entering a few letters of a person's last name. On the Siemens they could
just type a few keys and the system would automatically recoginize the name . Dial by name and extension was automatic, the user did not have to hit *2 to dial by name

Has anyone ever hooked up a
Siemens Rolm Phonemail System V6.4.3.2 to an Avaya S8500 running
CM 3.1. If so what are the issues.

THanks,
Tony

Not sure if you can hook these two systems together, I will let someone else deal with that. I don't think the features you want will work though. The two systems will have a completely different architecture.

To use dial-by-name requires a pretty tight integration between PBX and voice mail.

Since I know absolutely nothing about your Siemens voice mail, does it connect by IP to the PBX? That will be your first hurdle.
