Roadwarrior mode works w/o an h.323 extension

According to my documentation. If you want to set up an IP Softphone in Roadwarrior mode you needed 2 extensions. One for the phone you will be taking control of, and one H.323 extension for the Media Complex extension on the Station form.

Well we just tried this several ways but essentially we have removed the H.323 extensions and any reference to them on the station forms. After this we can still log into the phone (a 2410 or 6408D+) in Roadwarrior mode and have it function through the PC's audio system. My only thought is that the new version of Softphone has mades some improvement that no longer requires a separate H.323 media complex extension. Is anyone able to verify this for me? Or maybe I'm just going nutz!~!

My documentation comes from pgs 102 to 104 of 03-300509 Administrator guide for Communication Manager.

I believe the second extension was only used in early versions of CM. The latest release (at least 2 & 3) do not require a second extension. You only need to change page one and two of the form to allow for IP Softphone use.

I have never had to use 2 extensions for softphone.
