Difference between Tn464GP and HP

Could someone tell me the difference between the two suffixes?

TIA,

Re: Difference between Tn464GP and HP

Avaya's firmware download page shows the same firmware load for both boards, so unless you have reason to suspect a major difference, the TN464HP is probably just their latest board and will be identical to the the TN464GP in features.

Re: Difference between Tn464GP and HP

That's what I thought...

The reason I ask...I've got a client who was running CM2 on an S8500. We upgraded them to CM3 on a new S8500 (Don't ask) when they moved to a new site.

The TN464GP would NOT work with the PRI's at the new location. However I happened to have a TN464HP in the office for another client. Just for S&G we put the new board in and BAM! It came right up. Put the GP back in, and it would go down.

Seems like there is something specific to that suffix...just don't know what it is....

Are you absolutely certain it's not a bad card? Did you run a test board on the GP? Was the card in alarm when you connected it up to the telco?

Re: Difference between Tn464GP and HP

It was working at the old site.

I was not on-site and didn't get to see the card / troubleshoot. The card is on it's way to me now and I'll test it out and see what I find...

Re: Difference between Tn464GP and HP

Any way to find out if they changed out either the csu or the cable? Was it more than one PRI?

Seems truly unusual to me that a working card would just stop, unless it was damaged during the move... I used to work as a tech in one of the telco's ISDN TAC; the most common reasons a card would not come up on the CPE side was either a) no connectivity ; b) incorrect programming on either the CPE or CO switch; or c) the card was not capable of supporting ISDN.

Did you check the dip-switches on the boards? Maybe at the new location the PTT was using 75-Ohms instead of 120-Ohms (or vice versa) and the dip-switches on the boards were not set correctly.
