Periodic hold tone
We're running cm 2.0 and have 6408D+ sets. Is it possible to have the phone make a tone periodically when a call is placed on hold (to remind the user that they have someone sitting on hold)?
Thanks! |

Yes: 1) "change tone" On Page 2 (or later) enter Tone Name: hold Then enter the following steps: silence duration ( msec ) = 100 404/ -11.0 duration ( msec ) = 50 silence duration ( msec ) = 50 404/ -11.0 duration ( msec ) = 50 silence duration ( msec ) = 4000 goto step 2 2) "change system-parameters features" Set "Music/Tone on Hold:" to tone. regs, .al.

Re: Periodic hold tone
wouldn't that make it so the person who was put on hold hears the tone? I'm looking for a tone to come out of the phone of the person who put the caller on hold...reminding them audibly (instead of just the blinking line appearance) that they have someone holding.
Thanks, Nate |

er, Yup! Quote:
What about the Long Hold Recall Timer in system-parameters features: Long Hold Recall Timer (seconds): You can administer the system to remind a user that a call has been on hold for too long. Valid entries: 0- 999; 0 deactivates the timer. Usage: This value is the number of seconds a call can be on hold before the system re-alerts the user to remind them of the call. Other than that I don't think there's any way to make a "tone" come out of the 6400 series set. regs, .al.
