EC500 mapping mode

We are on S8700 G3xv11 Communication manager 1 and we currently have ec500 setup as termination only. Under “mapping mode” if I change termination to “both” this allows my cell phone number to appear as my phone extension when calling into the pbx.

The manual states “This feature is best administered by setting the Mapping Mode field on the Station screen to both for the XMOBILE station associated with the second line
appearance of the office phone. The first line appearance should be set to
termination on this screen.”

If I don’t need call waiting on my cell phone then only having 1 ec500 extension and set mapping to “both” is ok?

Re: EC500 mapping mode

you are correct. Or at least that is what I have done at our location.

I have the setting in mapping mode set to both and we also do not care about call waiting. The missed call will go back to voicemail if missed.

Good Luck.

Re: EC500 mapping mode

I also use one xmobile station with mapping of both. Figured that out when I only had 100 licenses and the person who set it up in the first place used two for each extension.
