Did you get the HD from Avaya? They put a header on the drive that is not there if you buy it from a computer store.

You need to install more than just UNIX for the Audix to work. Check your Audix maintenance manual, it does contain detailed steps on replacing the HD.

Re: Help With Audix TN568 Hard Drive

I am downloading the following document now to see if it tells me something different than my experience tells me. I have replaced probably 30-40 of these drives and it was only successful if the drive was purchased from Avaya. The header they put on is proprietary and not available from anywhere except Avaya, not even their Business Partners have it.

I now have the document. Have you followed all the steps in chapter 10 of the maintenance book for installing and initializing the HD?

You need 2 disks, "Dedinity Audix R4.0 Generic" and "Audix U.S. English Announcements". I have done this task many times but you definately need those disks.

Re: Help With Audix TN568 Hard Drive

Are you still trying to do this with the HD you bought from the computer store or did you contact Avaya to get one? I still say you will not succeed with a generic disk, I never have.

If you bought an HD from a computer store and want to keep trying that one, make sure it is the same type and capacity as the one that failed. Hopefully you have a backup that is still good because if you purchased any additional features, those will not be reinstalled from the generic optical disks.
