4610 phones do not register

Hello all,

I am new to this forum, which I found in my quest to find an answer to the following.

I have setup a S8300 / G250 Media gateway with 50 licences for IP phones. The S8300 is running CM 3.1.2 with the latest patch (12866) installed.

The 4610 phones run the latest 2.6 H323 software. Whenever a new set is pulled from the box, registration works okay to the point where you set the phone numer / password on the set. After that, it keeps registering forever. The command 'list trace ras ip-address <ip phone>' keeps showing "denial event 2041: IP RRJ-No DSP Resource endpt". I have not been able to find a description and/or resolution for this probem.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction here...

Looking forward to using this forum!

Greetings,

Mendel, The Netherlands

Re: 4610 phones do not register

Do you have the VoIP mod configured properly? The event almost seems like the phone can't reach the VoIP compressor...

I haven't worked with a G250....so I may be way off here....

Re: 4610 phones do not register

It seems the VOIP module of the G250 is fine. When I go into the MGP and display the status (SHOW VOIP) it lists the VOIP module as having 10 VOIP channels free, no faults, and 300 endpoints free. I can also ping the IP phone from the MGP session. The system also has 50 licences for IP phones.

Weird thing is, I had the exact same problem on a G700 with S8300, same CM release. This problem cured itself magically overnight... so I never knew the cause of it.

So either I'm doing something wrong or other people have seen the same issue...

Hi,

Pls check the following ports on the LAN firewall:

C-LAN : UDP 1719 - RAS - IP station registration
TCP 1720 - H.225 call setup
TCP 1037 - CCMS signalling (phone display updates)

MEDPRO : UDP 2048 - 65536 (configurable) - RTP -encapsulated audio

Re: 4610 phones do not register (solution!)

Thanks for the tips.

I had Avaya log into the system and they've found it. My IP phones were in network region 5, while the G250 was (unintentionally) in region 1. There was no rule to allow traffic between there regions, therfore the DSP resourced could not be found from region 5!

Yep always check the Ip-network-map and make sure different codecs have a codec to use when communicating with each other.
