S8400 - No Telnet?
I'm setting up an S8400 and just finished restoring the translations from the old csi...and now when I try to telnet to the services port on the S8400, I'm routed immediately to a SAT session....
Anyone have any idea what I did to cause this? TIA, Steve |

Re: S8400 - No Telnet?
In case anyone's curious, apparently this behavior is NORMAL. In order to access the telnet function on an S8400, you need to use an SSH client (PuTTY for example).

Re: S8400 - No Telnet?
Thanks, I have never worked on an S8400 so I did not offer any advice. I know Avaya has been leaning toward SSH because customers have been requesting it. The other machines had it as an option. Looks like the S8400 requires it.

Re: S8400 - No Telnet?
No Problem. I knew it was a long shot since it was such a new product.
To be honest with you, it's a killer upgrade. In and out very quickly. Load CM on the processor, backup the existing switch to flash, restore to the S8400 and massage the translations a bit (a very little bit). In and out. |
