Avaya G3 SI Release 12

If a user wants his calls that come in to his extension to go to his cell phone after so many rings can it be done with Avaya G3 SI release 12?? If so how? or is it an additional cost to add that feature??

Very, very easy. It is also possible to ring his cell phone "x" number of times and then bring the call back to your company voicemail. Just make sure that "coverage of remote calls" is enabled in "change system-parameters coverage"

1) "change coverage remote" and add the cell phone number to the Coverage Remote Table. Let's assume that you placed the number in slot 101. Be sure to include the ARS FAC (usually 9 in the US).

2) "add coverae path next" Create a unique Coverage Path for this user and record the number. Place "r101" in the first coverage point. You might want to place a higher number than 3 in the ring count for this particular coverage point (maybe 4 or 5) to allow the user a wee bit of additional time to get to their cell phone. Also, if you want to bring the call back into corporate voicemail, place hXXX (the hunt group number of your VMail just like all your other VM users) in the second coverage point.

3) "change sta XXXX" and add this new coverage path to the user's extension.

Some points to note:

1) If you have "Keep SBA at principle" under system-parameters coverage then the caller can be talking on his cell phone and walk into his office and pick up the call on his desk and hang up the cell.

2) In regards to Remove Coverage: If the user has his cell turned off, is out of range, or has incurred any condition that would cause his cell phone voicemail to pick up before the ring count then the call WILL NOt return to the corporate voicemail. As far as Communication Manager is concerned the call was completed when the cell voicemail answered.

regs,
