Re: Audix Cable Configuration

I am on vacation this week and I just ran across your post. I need a clarification on what you mean by "very old Audix". The Intuity Audix is accessed remotely by a modem, locally by a terminal. The modem is either external or internal depending on the age of the Intuity. If it is fairly recent, the external modem will be a US Robotics modem, if it is older the modem will be an AT&T (or Lucent) 3820 modem. There is no work around using a null modem cable for remote access.

The Intuity Audix is a PC and will be either a MAP5, MAP40, or MAP100. If it is older than that then it will look like a single carrier G3si. There is another model called an Audix Voicepower, it looks like a PC but makes a better boat anchor. Older than that, don't waste your time unless it is a toy.

Do you know the "sa" password? Without that, you are dead in the water.

Internal Audix for G3si. Not a toy but for hotel application.I have been using an interface cable from the audix cable to the null-modem cable which goes to the terminal. It has been working until i lost connection and opened the connector to findout that the soldering has come out.

You have a Definity Audix, in that case the null modem cable is used. I have one of those at work I can open up in the morning and let you know what goes where. Which end came apart, male or female? And what leads are loose?

Re: Audix Cable Configuration

I remember going through the same problem. After a few tries I was able to connect using the following wire map (see the attached PIC). The wire map is the internals of a serial to RJ45 converter.
The 25 pin male adaptor plugs into the serial on the audix tail and the 9 pin female adaptor is for the PC.

Re: Audix Cable Configuration

Since you didn't tell me what was broken, here is the complete pinout.

Female end

1-GND
2-BL/W
3-W/BL
4-O/W
5-W/O
6-G/W
7-W/G
8-BR/W
9

14
15
16
17
18
19
20-W/S
21
22
23
24
25

There is also a splice, the BR/W lead is spliced to the S/W lead.

Male end

1-GND
2-W/BL
3-BL/W
4-BR/W
5-S/W
6-W/S
7-W/G
8-W/O
9
10

12
13
14
15
16
17
18
19
20-G/W
21
22
23
24
25

At this end the splice is W/O to O/W.
