Question CMS V13 / S8700 Multivantage R1 - CMS is busied out

Hello my friends...

"ACD(s): switch
Application: busied out
Session: data transfer normal
Connection: operational
Date/Time: 6/26/06 3:03 PM
Errors:
CMS is busied out"

I'm trying to put a CMS up, but i'm having some problems..
I can ping CMS ip from S8700 and vice-versa.
The configuration of channels, nodes and masks are ok.
The message above indicates that i'm having problems with the Application Layer.

Do you have any ideia about what's the cause of this problem?

Devices and versions:

S8700 - with vectoring, eas, Multivantage R1, Call Center release pre 8.1
CMS R13

Thanks in advance...

I do not have an R13 here so I am not sure what the menu is called because it has been changed a couple of times. But go to the root prompt of the CMS (the # sign) and type either "cmssvc" or "sysadmin" or "cmsadmin", one of these will bring up a menu that has the option of busying or releasing the CMS. It will not release if the CMS configuration and the PBX configuration don't match.

Marty, thanks for your contact...

The CMS service is already started....!
in cmssvc i turned the service on.... =/

there is something curious...the machine i'm installing is a R13 but,
in system-parameters features, the last available release of CMS is R3V11....

That is why it won't start. If the highest release in the PBX is V11, then the CMS must be configured to run that release also. That is in one of the menus on the CMS computer, too. I just don't remember which one. It has been a long time since I have had to turn up a CMS. Look in "cmssvc" for the release to run as, if it is not there try "sysadm" or "cmsadm". I misspelled those two menus earlier. Once you have set the correct release, the CMS must be rebooted.

You CMS also has to have the same (or greater than) number of agents, splits, skills, and trunk groups as the PBX. I will see if I can find out exactly where to go. But this will get you started.

I've done a lot of CMS provisioning (from the 10,000 foot level) and have been told by Avaya that it's very easy to go from a lower version to a higher version in cmssvc but very difficult to go from a higher version to a lower version. Looks like Avaya will need to be involved if that is true.

regs,

The solution was simple:

"release mis" at the S8700 console.....

There you go, I had made the assumption you already did that. Sorry to waste your time.
