Tn767e

I have a problem with 4 new circuits- I got 4 TN767E cards and wired them in. The T1 looks ok - the dmarc and adtran csu have the proper lights.

Verizon is saying all they see back is 111111 and no dchannel - the dchannel is showing out of service

All the channels in the trunk group show outofservice-NE

Do the 767E just not work for ISDN? We have a definity prologix and all the working cards I have in there are TN 2464

Any ideas?

Jeremy

Re: Tn767e

If the D channel is out of service, all the trunk group members will be out of service. The D channel has to come up first.

A TN767E is supported in a Prologix for ISDN-PRI. Some other switches will not support it for that service.

First, do a "test bo (DS1 board) long". You can cancel the test after test 146. What tests fail? If test 144 fails, rerun the test and verify that the counter has cleared and the test passes. Do this for all four DS1s.

If all the tests pass, now status the signal group and see what it says.

Check the DS1 page to make sure the CSU type is not set for Integrated since you are using an Adtran.

Make sure you have the right Interface ID for each DS1 board in the signal group, they must match what the vendor is doing. If you have only one D channel that board will have interface ID of 0 and the rest will have ID 2, 3, and 4. If you have two D channels then the IDs will be 0, 1, 2, and 3.

The DS1s with a D channel are to be programmed as ISDN-PRI and the ones without D channels will be ISDN-EXT so you can use all 24 channels as B channels.

Re: Tn767e

If Verizon is seeing all 1's, the span is OOS. Until you get framing, you can forget about the trunks.

Try plugging a loopback on the span and ask them if the alarm goes away. If it does the problem is between the smartjack and the DS1 card. If it doesn't, the problem belongs to them.

Re: Tn767e

You cannot use a TN767 for a T1 that has a D-channel. It must be an TN464

Not quite true, it is only on a G3r and an S87xx server that you must use a TN464. On a G3i, G3si, and G3csi (Prologix) a TN767 will work just fine for a ISDN-PRI.

Don't know, haven't heard from him in a week. Perhaps no news is good news.

This is going way back so my memory might be wrong, but I believe your switch needs to be at least a V6 to get caller ID.
